I remember rice was highly suggested and if memory serves me right, many people claimed canned pumpkin also helped the digestive system. Something in this foggy brain of mine remembers a discussion as to what works really well posted on the forum some time back. Sheepies are very senstitive to sudden changes in food and water. The vet will suggest the rice and ground meat diet for a few days.then SLOWLY introduce the food back.

Discuss with vet other possible problems such as pancreatitis. If you must reward him, use a couple of kibbles.īy all means get the fecal check. It does go bad.Ĭut out the treats.there may be something in them setting him off. I have purchased out of date food from PetsMart. Sometimes that's the first name that comes to people's mind when they don't want you to know they were feeding him something less quality.Ĭheck the expiration date on your Pedigree. Some of these guys are really sensitive so it could be many things, but Could stillīe the change in environment too, since it has only been a short while. Would stop those for a few days if the tests turn up nothing. Get the runs if I even change chews or the edible bones they love. I would get a fecal test and cut back on the treats. Pass gas in their sleep I couldn't stand it. Incredible, and since they sleep slammed up against me, and tend to Stuck with it, but I couldn't stand to be around my dogs! The smell was will definatly take a stool sample when we go.īut definitely have the stools checked by the vet first. Yes, we will be going to the Vet!! We, don't know what shots he has had, the family that had him didnt give us that info. I'm personally thinking its too many treats!! The cottage cheese, yes, a friend of my has also suggested that. I second this just to rule out any type of parasite. And like they said step up the brand dog food something thats lamb and rice. Out vet has me put them on rice and chicken or hamberg. Both do not always show up with just one fecal exam, sometimes it takes looking at stools from 3 or 4 different days under the microscope. It sounds like it could be coccidia or giardia. but maybe try a higher quality food? A slow change though so that you don't make it worse. We give Barney a spoon of cottage cheese with his food which is supposed to help make stools harder. Sometimes that can make a big difference. I'd also consider stepping him up to a higher quality food. PS.I agree w/ Hannah.a fecal test is a must.you never know. See what you can do about changing the feedings.Sheepies have very sensitive tummys!!

With my GS.he could not have any canned food, same reason and he never outgrew it. I stopped giving him treats for a few months (I know it was terrible ) then I slowly started back again.he is fine now! When I brought Benjamin home I could not give him "treats".everytime I did.it was like clock work that the would need to go out and yes, it was not pretty. If a dog continues to have diarrhea he will eventually become dehydrated and then your going to start with other problems as well. You could be talking any number of problems. Have you had a fecal checked? If not take him to the vet or even drop a sample by to have it checked. ive had other dogs, one other oes, and she never had this problem.

Poor dog, i felt bad, yesterday had to cut some fur off his behind cause of the matting from the loose bm. He eats it all.!! He also has the occasional dog biscuit. What am i doing wrong? The family that had him fed him pedigree dog food, which i am continueing to give him, mixed with half a can of wet pedigree, once a day. and it stopped for a few days, stool became harder, but now, we are back to the loose stools!! I figured it was from the excitement of the move. We have had Winston now for 3 weeks, when i rescued him, he had diarrhea.
